Virtual Oktoberfest

Wednesday, October 14

Grab ein Bier and say “Pröst” with us! CHM members and the Historical Alliance are invited to our virtual Oktoberfest, which will explore the history of Chicago’s German community. Join CHM cataloging and metadata librarian Gretchen Neidhardt as she discusses the establishment and growth of the city’s German population and its subsequent influence on the food scene. See items from our research collection, such as historical menus, and hear from the Chicago-based Dovetail Brewery, which combines continental European styles and techniques with American creativity to produce their beers. Zoom link provided after registration.
