The Last Speakeasy

Put on your best get-up and join us at our juice joint as we celebrate the 83rd anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition. Grab some giggle water, test your luck at the tables, or stretch your stilts on the dance floor all night long, or until the feds find us.

The evening’s events include:

Schooled in Scofflaw

Author Richard Lindberg has made a career writing about Chicago’s notorious netherworld. Return to the scene of the crime as he tells the tales of gangsters, assassins, and infamous places. Take a sip of history as John Russick, CHM’s vice president for Interpretation and Education, explores the tumultuous trail to Prohibition.

Jake Jams

Get ready to Lindy Hop, Charleston, and Foxtrot to the tunes of the 1930s as you listen to the swinging sounds of the Prohibition Orchestra’s big band.

Jump on the Jitney

Discover Chicago ingenuity by hopping on a one-of-a-kind whiskey barrel bus, courtesy of The Barrel Run, and learn about its creation from CEO David Baker.
