History Happy Hour
Raise a glass to history!
Sick of the same old after-work grind? Grab your friends and head on over for History Happy Hour! Each month History Happy Hour is served up with a twist—with rotating beverage partners and unique explorations of the Museum.
The evening welcomes the following spooky activations that explore the dark side of Chicago’s history:
- Spirits in the Archives: Chicago Brewing, Bars, and Taverns. From breweries to corner taverns, explore the hidden history of Chicago spirits with a selection of rarely seen materials from the Museum’s archives. Archivists and Research Center staff will be on hand to share their insights into these collections at display stations on the first floor and in the Research Center.
- Chicago 00: St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. Join John Russick, the vice president for interpretation and education at the Chicago History Museum, for a live demonstration of the virtual reality app Chicago 00: The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.
- Discover the frightening histories behind otherworldly and mysterious objects in the Museum’s collection pulled from the archives for one night only.
CH Distillery, Chicago’s only combination distillery, restaurant and tasting room, will be on hand to pour a selection of their Chicago-produced spirits.
