Murder, mayhem, and crime have been a part of life in Illinois, and particularly Chicago since its founding. From frontier justice and the car barn bandit murders to the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre and Leopold & Loeb’s “crime of the century,” explore the darker side of our state’s history with a selection of rarely seen materials from the Museum’s archives. Archivists and Research Center Staff will be on hand to share their insights into these collections at display stations on the second floor in the Elizabeth Morse Genius Chicago Room.
Discover the frightening histories behind otherworldly and mysterious objects in the Museum’s collection pulled from the archives for one night only.
