History Happy Hour
Sick of the same old after-work grind? Grab your pals and head on over for History Happy Hour! This monthly series features a deluxe beer tasting, plus 15-minute “flash tours” highlighting our diverse collection.
Each month History Happy Hour is served up with a twist—with rotating beverage partners and unique explorations of the Museum. For this edition, we are excited to welcome Russell Lewis, Chicago History Museum executive vice president and chief historian, and Liz Garibay, founder of the Chicago Brewseum, for tavern tales and tasty beers.
The featured flash tour, “City of Beer Shoulders,” will whisk you through our permanent exhibition, Chicago: Crossroads of America, highlighting the city’s sudsy entrepreneurial past. After that, hear more about Chicago’s beer history from Liz and Russell at an informal in-conversation.
Sketchbook Brewing Company will be on hand to pour a selection of their Evanston-produced brews, and DJ Alexander Luna will be spinning tunes.
General admission is free for Illinois residents on Tuesday evenings; purchase a ticket to History Happy Hour to enhance your experience.
