History Happy Hour

Raise a glass to history!

Sick of the same old after-work grind? Grab your friends and head on over for History Happy Hour! This quarterly series features two drinks on us, tours, talks, and activities highlighting our collection and exhibitions.

Every Chicagoan is Irish for one day each year. Don your green and toast Chicago’s longstanding celebration of St. Patrick’s day! Music, themed activities and 15-minute flash tours will explore Chicago’s vibrant Irish community.

Join us, raise a glass, and learn more about this city you love!

Live Entertainment:

  • Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band performing from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Irish musician Paddy Homan will be performing and doing a piece on the history of the Irish in Chicago.
  • Irish dancers will be performing from the Bentley School of Dance.

Food and Drinks:

  • Irish Food Sampler from Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro
    Sheperd’s Pie Potato Skins:
    Traditional Irish pie with veal, lamb, beef, carrots, leeks, and deep fried potato skins with a side of sour cream
