For a century, this grand structure has captured the imagination of nearly 130 million visitors—inviting them on a journey around the world and through time to examine the way we perceive nature and culture. Today, this building protects a collection of more than 40 million specimens and supports 150 scientists leading research and conservation around the world. Join experts from the Chicago History Museum, Chicago Architecture Center, and the Field Museum to take a closer look at this impressive structure and its place in Chicago’s rich architectural history.
