Community Conversations: Identity and Expression
Tuesday, March 24
Inspired by the Museum’s newest exhibition, American Medina: Stories of Muslim Chicago, this series gathers local experts to discuss topics rooted in history, politics, and civic life of Chicago Muslims. Each dynamic panel conversation is shaped by lived experiences and moderated by Radio Islam host and producer Tariq El-Amin. Join us as we dive into life, politics, and perceptions in the American Medina.
In this conversation, designers and artists from the Muslim community in Chicago share perspectives on their artistic process and overlapping identities. Explore how creativity embodies or reflects faith and how it impacts conceptions of self-expression.
