Chicago Crimes of the Past
Saturday, November 4 — Saturday, November 4
Immerse yourself in the infamous history of Chicago’s nefarious underworld. Explore the sites of old “Roaring 42” nightclub district, State Street’s “Whiskey Row”, Madison Street “Skid Row”, the 1926 “Battle of Michigan Avenue”, the vanished 19th century vice district and of course, its centerpiece—the “best little bordello” of the Gaslight Era, the Everleigh Club.
Join Richard Lindberg, author of “Gangland Chicago: Criminality and Lawlessness in the Windy City” and “Return to the Scene of the Crime: A Guide to Infamous Places in Chicago” to prowl the paths of the gangsters that roamed downtown, the Gold Coast and the near South and West sides. Lindberg, a historian, author and journalist presents accurate accounts of Chicago’s evolution through the prism of the notorious and has led off the beaten path tours for the Chicago History Museum for the past decade.
