Walking Tour | Bronzeville
Saturday, September 18
The Great Migration made its biggest impact on Chicago in Bronzeville, which became the center of African American culture from the 1920s through the 1950s. Join guide Bernard Turner on this walking tour that features stops such as the Walk of Fame, landmarks, neighborhood art, and stories about the history and culture of this South Side neighborhood.
$22.50, $20 members
Tour runs 1.5 to 2 hours. Meet at the SE corner of 35th Street and Martin Luther King Drive.
Although the city of Chicago has moved into Phase 5 of its reopening plan and the CDC has updated guidance regarding mask mandates for fully vaccinated people, CHM will continue to require all visitors over age 2 and staff to wear a mask while participating in a group tour. As vaccinations continue, we will evaluate and update policies.
