26th Annual Making History Awards
Tuesday, October 6
For twenty-six years, the Chicago History Museum’s Making History Awards have honored 113 Chicagoans and thirteen Chicago companies whose enduring contributions to art and culture, sports, business, and civic life have made this city a more vibrant place to live. The Museum inaugurated this event to provide vital financial support for its conservation work, educational outreach, exhibitions, and public programs. More than two decades, this event is still a cornerstone of the institution, supporting the Museum’s mission to share Chicago’s stories, serving as a hub of scholarship and learning, inspiration, and civic engagement.
While we’re unable to gather in person this year, our virtual ceremony will celebrate the accomplishments of seven distinguished honorees who have left their mark on Chicago. Join us on our YouTube channel as we share each of their unique stories and hear from esteemed colleagues on the importance of their contributions to our community. We will also hear from Chicago History Museum leadership and take a look at the Museum’s current initiatives, exhibitions, and educational programs. Be sure to stay tuned to the end for a special surprise!
Program will run approximately 75 minutes.
