Visit modern exemplars of old-time saloons with Northwestern professor and writer Bill Savage and discover how Chicagoans of all walks of life partook in the city’s drinking culture. Based in part on George Ade’s 1931 book, this trolley tour explores the urban landscape of the saloon before the 18th Amendment and Volstead Act forced patrons into illegal speakeasies.
Tour runs about 3 hours and concludes at the Chicago Athletic Association, must be 21+.
