Chicago’s Jewish Communities
The history of the Chicago Jewish communities began in the 1830s and by 1930 there were almost 300,000 Jews, almost 9 percent of Chicago's population, living in Chicago. Jewish history is one of arrival, growth, maturation, relocation, and dispersion. Our tour of the Jewish communities includes various neighborhoods, religious, cultural, and charitable institutions. Edward Mazur leads this bus tour of sites connected to the Chicago Jewish community. Tours available Sunday through Thursday.
