For Parents

Inspire your kids to discover Chicago and connect the city’s past to their lives today. My Chicago is designed for children ages 6-12 and uses the symbols and design of the Chicago flag to explore the city’s rich and diverse history. My Chicago illustrates the themes of Chicago’s past and present by drawing on the collections of the Chicago Historical Society, including a variety of photographs, documents, and images of artifacts.

This website contains two sections for your use:

1. Games: Spend time playing six online games with your kids that expand and celebrate their knowledge about Chicago. Suggested age levels are noted on the main Games page.

2. Print Activities: Visit this portion of the site to download ten My Chicago activities that you can complete at home with your children. The combined activities allow your children to create their own My Chicago Scrapbook. We encourage you to adapt the activities to best meet the needs of your child. These flexible topics and materials can be tailored for your family's use.
