The Costume Ball 2013
On Friday, March 15, 2013 the Costume Council of the Chicago History Museum hosted the Costume Ball 2013 to celebrate our latest exhibition Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair. Over 400 guests attended the gala, which raised over $400,000 to support the Museum’s costume collection.
Costume Council President, Nena Ivon, Honorary Chair, Linda Johnson Rice, Costume Ball co-chairs, Melissa Cherry, Gregory Hyder and Laura Barnett Sawchyn as well as auction co-chairs Toni Canada and Dusty Stemer were all in attendance. Other notable guests included CEO of Johnson Publishing Company, Desirée Rogers; International Editor at Large for Vogue, Hamish Bowles; Chicago Sun-Times Columnist, Bill Zwecker, Ebony Fashion Fair Model, Pat Cleveland; and many others.
Chicago History Museum Costume Council
Founded by Mrs. Phillip K. Wrigley in April 1974, the purpose of the Costume Council of the Chicago History Museum is to support the Museum as a leader in the documentation and interpretation of the history and the art of costume.
