Tending the Fire
As on some past anniversaries, in the centennial year the Society loaned items from its collections for display in local businesses, in this case the Continental Bank. Director Clement Silvestro presents a silver fire medal to Chicago Fire Commissioner Robert J. Quinn, whose hat is a century out of date and a few sizes too small. The exhibit case of relics behind them includes a book damaged by the fire. The Chicago Fire Academy is now named after Quinn.
