Member Dialogue | The Aga Khan Award for Architecture: Exhibition and Discussion
Monday, January 30
CHM members and the Historical Alliance are invited to join the Chicago History Museum, the Chicago Architecture Center, and the Ismaili Council (Midwestern US Region) for a dialogue that highlights the Aga Khan Award for Architecture with:
- Nader Tehrani, professor, The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture, The Cooper Union in New York
- Rebekah Coffman, CHM curator of religion and community history
- Peter T. Alter, CHM Gary T. Johnson chief historian and director of the Studs Terkel Center for Oral History
- Ellen Dickson, managing principal/president of Bailey Edward Design
Our speaker and panelists will examine the role that architecture plays in improving quality of life, achieving social change, and addressing climate change, and connect these themes to Chicago’s own history and communities. A one-night-only panel exhibition featuring the architectural projects submitted to the Award cycle will be available for viewing prior to the start of the dialogue. Refreshments will be served.
Free; RSVP required.
