Virtual Q&A on Wednesday, February 16, 6:00–7:00 p.m.

‘Tis the season to curl up with a good book! CHM members and the Historical Alliance are invited to join us for a virtual book club led by Peter T. Alter, CHM’s Gary T. Johnson chief historian and director of the Studs Terkel Center for Oral History. This year, we’re reading Stuart Dybek’s The Coast of Chicago (1990). Alter’s reading guide for the book will lead you through Polish Chicago and the city in the mid-twentieth century. We’ll gather virtually for an in-depth discussion and Q&A with Alter, during which he’ll talk about his work for an upcoming exhibition about Chicago’s Polish community.

A prerecorded video and reading guide will be sent to registrants on Wednesday, January 26, and the virtual Q&A session will take place on Wednesday, February 16. Come prepared for a lively discussion!
