Ed Swanson is a true Chicagoan! He has lived here all his life and personally witnessed a lot of change, and it is the dynamic of this “young” city (we’re well under 200 years old) that he’s always found interesting. The growth and change from Fort Dearborn to today captured his interest when visiting the Chicago Historical Society on school trips—a long time ago! His last eight years as a CHM docent has certainly enriched his knowledge of and pride in his hometown. It’s a story that he can’t wait to tell whoever will listen. Swanson come to this position after forty years of designing, producing, and distributing educational videos and materials for the classroom.
